Finishing up the basics for posting a new listing Part 2

What you see below is the LOWER HALF of the First Step of Adding a Listing. These are the last things to fill in or select before you click that little "Submit" button to save important information about this listing.

If there is anything you have left out you can NOT save this listing: it will tell you what you missed and you can continue to fill in the various fields, making sure that any field marked with an asterisk * has relevant information in it.

Hey, with just a little patience you can put your For Sale or For Rent listing up for FREE with as many as 10 pictures, so just play our little game a bit longer, okay?

Now make sure to put a check mark into each of the above boxes that applies to your listing. And select one of the Parking options. Then click SUBMIT and you have created the basics of your listing!

THE NEXT WINDOW SHOWS THIS:

It confirms that your listing has been added to our database and is ONLINE.

Click that line that says "You may now edit your listing" to begin selecting photos.

A few important notes about your pictures

One: When preparing your pictures please crop out any extraneous details. If you have a picture taken on the street crop away EVERYTHING that distracts from attention to the main image you want to display.

Just give us the Meat of the picture. If there are cars in the way and they can be cropped, remove them. If the space around a part of the house tells nothing important then remove it. Same guideline for interior photos.

Two: Before you submit photos think about renaming them like this: "upstairs-bathroom.jpg" instead of DSC23406-057 or whatever. Use descriptive names for your photo filenames, rename them in your computer and use HYPHENS instead of Underline_.

And ALWAYS put a hyphen - between each word in the picture title. Do NOT upload pictures with spaces between words in their title. Do NOT upload pictures that are named like this: "Summer Day.jpg" Remove that space. Take the time, you only have 10 pictures at the most to get ready, put a HYPHEN -

so that it becomes "Summer-Day.jpg".

If you want to keep the original name just make a copy of it and save it to a special folder that you will use for your real estate listings. Then, when it is in that folder go ahead and rename the filename of that picture.

Three: The widest dimension allowed on this site is 450 pixels across (wide). If you are submitting a picture that is wider, such as (example) 600 pixels across, the software on our website will RESIZE the picture to 450 pixels across. Of course, it will resize it in the same proportion so it will look fine.

The maximum height we allow is 750 pixels tall.

So, if you try to upload an image that is 600 pixels wide and 900 pixels tall our software will resize it to 450 pixels wide and about 713 pixels tall.

Our software will only allow you to upload a picture that is 150,000 kb in file size or less.

Look in your Windows or Apple files in the detail view to see just how large your image is before uploading. If it is 150,000 kb or less then you are fine.
